Idaho State Flag
A flag is often an amalgam of anecdotes that tell the history of a state.
You will find below the description and explanation for the symbols of the flag of Idaho.
The Idaho Flag was adopted November 2, 1957. It consists of a blue background on which is centered the state seal. The seal is emphasized by a red band, in gold is written "State of Idaho". On this seal, there are a woman who represents justice (she carries a spear with a Phrygian cap at the end, equality symbol). On the right is drawn a minor, because this state is very rich in ore, which was long the main resource. Finally, there are landscapes of Idaho in heraldry and symbols of abundance (ear of corn ...). The name of the state would be of dubious origin. It was told at the the U.S. Congress that it was the Indian "Diamond Mountain", but it was actually a mistake. The name stuck because it was already used when the problem was discovered. Idaho joined the United States on 4 July 1890. Idaho is known as the "Gem State", and its capital is Boise.
