Colorado State Flag

The flag of Colorado was adopted on 4 December 1911. It is composed of three horizontal stripes of equal width : blue - white - blue, even if we can’t assimilate it to the flags from the old United Provinces of Central America (Argentina or Uruguay for example), using the same model. Slightly to the left appears a large red "C" including a golden circle. Blue symbolizes the sky of that sunny land, while yellow recalls the golden mineral wealth of the State. White refers to the snow of the mountains bordering the Colorado, and red is for the Colorado River, which crosses the state. This is a flag that makes extensive reference to the natural resources of the State, which is quite rare among U.S. federal states. Colorado has joined the United States on 4 July 1877. Colorado is known as the "Centennial State", and its capital is Denver.
