Singapore Flag
The explanation for the symbols of the Singaporean Flag
The flag of Singapore was adopted on 3 December 1959. It consists of two horizontal stripes: red on top and white on bottom, colors quite often used on bicolor flags, as in Poland in Indonesia or Monaco. In Canton, we see a crescent which includes five white stars with five branches. This symbol, which could be Muslim (see Algerian or Libyan flags for example) actually represents the country’s five virtues : equality, democracy, peace, progress and justice.
