Peru Flag
The explanation for the symbols of the Peruvian Flag
The flag of Peru was adopted on 25 May 1825. It consists of three vertical stripes red - white - red. The first Peruvian flag was created by the General San Martin in 1820. It wore the colors already present, which is said to have been inspired by the arrival of red and white flamingos on the south coast of the country. It seems they can also be reported to the red of +Chile and the white of Argentina, because it is known that their soldiers have largely contributed to the liberation of Peru. The arms of the country, long placed in the middle of the white band, were removed in 1950.
