El Salvador Flag
The explanation for the symbols of the Salvadoran Flag
The flag of El Salvador was adopted on 27 September 1972. It is quite similar to the flag of Argentina, even though the blue is different, but adopts the same shape and same position of the central crest. It should be noted that the symbolism of colors is also quite close. It consists of three horizontal stripes: blue - white - blue, with the coat of arms in the center. Blue symbolizes the cloudless sky, and thus faith in the future, as is also the case that of Ecuador. White is a strong allusion to the peace after the sufferings of the country. The coat of arms of the country boast many symbols, such as brotherhood and bravery, or freedom of the people represented by the Phrygian cap from to the French Revolution. The latter has also inspired the country's adage : Liberty - Equality - Fraternity.
