Cambodia Flag

The explanation for the symbols of the Cambodian Flag

The flag of Cambodia was adopted in 1993. It comes after the dark period that knew the country in 1992-93, then without stable power and under the protection of the UN. The different changes of political regimes have significantly changed the national flag. This one is a copy of the first flag of the country, then under French protectorate. It is composed of three horizontal stripes: red - blue - red. The temple of Angkor, a national symbol, is reproduced in white in the center. The colours represent : red for the Nation, blue for the King and white for religion.
